Clay Classes, Workshops, & Community Studio

We offer intensive workshops that specialize in specific areas of study. Unlike our six week classes, workshops typically run the duration of 1 to 3 days and give you more concentrated exposure to a specific artist, topic, or technique. Our goal is to bring you different viewpoints from instructors around the region and country for high quality demonstrations and hands on workshops.

Throwing and Trimming Plates

When: Friday, April 5th | 6:00-9:00
Instructor: Forrest Lesch-Middelton

While simple at first glance, a plate can be complex in both creation and concept. Join us for one night of throwing plates on the wheel. In this workshop you will learn tips and techniques to throw consistent plate forms in a variety of sizes, learn tips and tricks for altering shapes and rims, and talk about best practices for trimming and finishing plates in a variety of ways. Students will see demos on throwing and trimming, have some time to practice and ask questions and leave with new ideas to inspire future studio practice.

Class must have at least four students to run and will be capped at 10.
Some experience is required. This workshop will be best suited to intermediate to advanced potters.

Members: $45 | Non-Members: $50
Materials Fee: $15 (Includes clay and bisque firing)
