CLASS DESCRIPTION
We love offering Handbuilding for the Table in advance of the holidays to help you create dishes, vessels, and one of a kind pieces for your table. You will learn slab, pinch, and coil techniques each week as you move through a variety of forms and vessels including serving dishes, vases, and cake stands. Focus on one or two forms or try them all. Some basic decorating techniques will also be covered as well as glazing. Each class is 3 hours, your teacher will give instruction at the beginning of each class and then be available throughout the rest of the work time to answer questions.
LOGISTICS
Class fee includes 20 lbs of our in-house clay and firing. You can purchase additional clay if you end up wanting more. You will need a basic tool kit which you can either purchase from our online store or on the first day of class. You are also welcome to bring your own tools! Your class comes with 8 hours of open studio time to come in and practice what you are learning in class. More details about open studio times and logistics during the first week of class.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you sign up and then are unable to attend for any reason there are no available refunds or credits unless we can fill your spot with someone on the waitlist, so the sooner you can let us know the better. If we have to fill your spot with someone from the waitlist there is a $25 processing fee to account for our time as well as web fees we can’t recoup. If you have to miss one of your class sessions there are not make up classes for you to attend. Your class comes with open studio hours outside of your class time so you could always speak with your instructor and come in to practice during those times.
Please note a minimum of 4 people is required for most classes to run. If you’ve enrolled and we don’t reach the minimum you will be issued a full refund. If you have questions about our cancellation policy please email us before signing up.
We will send you an email with other logistics and FAQs about a week before your class begins! In the meantime, please email petalumapottery@gmail.com if you have any questions about classes or enrollment
